Read about PJI’s IMPACT…

In the past year, PJI has brought home 38 people who either had an excessive sentence or who were convicted by a non-unanimous jury.

In a state with the highest incarceration rate in the country, PJI is committed to a vision: a world where we approach justice with a lens of healing and restoration for those who are harmed. Bringing our clients home and reuniting them with their loved ones is an important part of this healing. More than winning justice or righting a historic wrong, reuniting families is about humanity. It’s about healing the wounds incarceration leaves behind. It’s about redefining safety and resilience in our communities.

Your support bridges the gap between incarcerated individuals and their loved ones. Your support ensures healing and justice for all.

I worked in the field where we get paid half a penny... and after almost 19 years of incarceration, working for 2 cents, I had a hundred and thirty-one dollars. Well, I brought my mamma some flowers. “

Meet Derrick

After serving 18 and a half years of hard labor at Raymond Laborde Correctional Facility, Derrick came home to his family with $131.00 in his bank account. The first thing Derrick did? He bought his mother some flowers.
